When I was a child at home, my mum used to have the radio on all the time. I firmly believe it to be one of the most influential times of my life. I loved my mum and so I loved what she listened too. Sometimes it was classical and sometimes it was the music of the day. In any event, I soaked up the moods and the feelings that the music invoked.
The title of this painting is a line from the great Joni Mitchell song "Both Sides Now”. Whilst I doubt that the complexities of the metaphor meant that much to me at the time, I do remember the words of the first verse being very intriguing ..
Rows and floes of angel hair
And ice cream castles in the air
And feather canyons everywhere
I've looked at clouds that way
... and I still do.
Size: 8”x 8”(20cms x 20cms) excluding frame, 10”x 10”(25.5cms x 25.5cms) including window mount. Media: Acrylic on 300gsm hot press watercolour paper, finished with polymer varnish to archive standard. Presented in a soft white, card window mount. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
