I don't live in the north-east anymore and haven't done so for 44 years. But as a child then, and an adult now, walking in to this building gives me a sense of place and belonging that is like no other. It is at the centre of my spiritual world even though I am not a religious person. If I were to feel the divine anywhere, however, It would be here.
