For anyone who knows the Peak District in the UK, the 'Edges' are iconic symbols of the area. There are many of these gritstone escarpments littered all over the peaks with names such as Derwent, Stanage, Bamford and many more. The nearest to me is Curbar Edge, sandwiched between Froggatt Edge and Baslow Edge. This painting, as with all my work, is not a literal description of the landscape. Rather, it is my interpretation, an effort to evoke my response to what I see.
It is offered as part of the #artistsupportpledge
