These daffodils are not the bright, sunny yellow one would usually associate this beloved flower with. Instead, they are wrought in deeper, more subdued shades, with hints of orange and gold. The light, such as it is, creates a moody, contemplative, atmosphere, with the shadows surrounding them adding a depth and texture which bespeaks of something else being expressed. Something more akin to quiet beauty.
