St Paul's Cathedral beyond Canon Street Railway Bridge

London, from the river boat. It's a hot day and the air is thick with humidity. In the city, it is unbearably sticky and heaving with people going about their day rather more sluggishly than normal. But on the river, the relief is palpable as a breath of cool air from the water finds its way to us. This is St Paul’s Cathedral as we approach the Canon Street Railway Bridge and l'm impressed, as always, as we slide between its Victorian doric columns. History is right there as it is wherever you go in London.
