On the morning that I painted this, I was imagining a light drenched landscape, because it’s a walk I have taken many times in my imagination. On this particular mornung I was clearly in the mood for some bright, lively colour. I used to live in Italy and whilst this isn’t an Italian scene, it is imbued with the colours that remain vivid in memory.
Agitato, funnily enough (although, not really) is another musical reference meaning restless or agitated.
