You know that moment just before the sun disappears — when the fields go golden and everything feels kind of hushed? That’s what I was thinking about when I painted this.
In Pastoral Sunset I'm trying to hold on to the feeling — stillness, soft light, when the day is almost done and the world seems to take a breath.
I don’t know about you, but I find those quiet moments are the ones that stay with me longest.
