We are up at the top of Curbar Edge in the Dark Peaks of Derbyshire. Like all of the other 'edges' in The Peak District, is made up of giant gritstone rocks sitting atop the moorlands. They have been there an awfully long time. And whilst the landscape may not have altered much down the millennia, man's impact on the landscape has changed it irrevocably. Below are the villages of Calver, Baslow and Froggat and these mighty stones have witnessed the rise of humanity within this landscape. I wonder if they will witness humanity's downfall?
